Meet The Doctors

Kim L. Cooper, MD

Dr. Cooper is a board certified Ophthalmologist and is fellowship trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. After attaining her Doctorate from John Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, she went on to pursue an internship from St Joseph’s Hospital, Phoenix, AZ and completed her residency from Stanford University Hospital, Stanford, CA. Later, Dr. Cooper received her fellowship from Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has special interests in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Family Eye Care including strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), nasolacrimal duct obstruction (blocked tear ducts), congenital cataracts, congenital glaucoma, progressive myopia, glasses for children and adolescents, and dyslexia (learning disability in reading). Dr. Cooper was a faculty at Stanford University Hospital, Department of Ophthalmology and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital, Department of Pediatrics, and a volunteer clinical faculty member. Dr. Cooper is actively involved in clinical research including a vision screen app designed for parents and pediatricians called GoCheck Kids. GoCheck Kids helps detect vision disorders in very young children, even those pre-verbal, to help eliminate childhood blindness. Dr. Cooper also assists with product development by providing valuable user feedback to the GoCheck Kids team. Dr. Cooper has been practicing pediatric ophthalmology in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1994. She enjoys water and snow skiing, white water rafting, reading and traveling. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband and daughter.

Rupali Apte, MD

Dr. Apte is a board certified Ophthalmologist. She received her doctorate from the University of California, San Francisco, CA. Dr. Apte attended her internship from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, IL. Later, she went on to pursue her residency at Stanford University Hospital, Stanford, CA. Dr. Apte has been practicing ophthalmology in the Bay area since 1995 and trained together with Dr. Cooper at Stanford University Hospital. Dr. Apte and her husband have a son.

Jennifer Lo, OD

Dr. Lo had attained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, CA. When she realized that her passion lies in Optometry, she went on to pursue a doctorate in Optometry from the University of Southern California, College of Optometry, Fullerton, CA. Today, Dr. Lo is a board certified Optometrist. Dr. Lo had attended externship programs at the Veterans Affairs Optometric Center, Los Angeles, CA; Pearl Harbor Naval Base Branch Medical Clinic, Hawaii; and the Veterans Affairs Optometry Department, West Los Angeles, CA. Her special interests lie in general optometry, contact lens fitting for adolescents and adults. Dr. Jennifer Lo provides a full comprehensive exam as well as specialty contact lens fittings.

Leslie Hung, OD

Board Certified in Optometry

Dr. Hung received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, CA. As she realized her passion lies for eye care, she went on to pursue a doctorate in Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley, CA. She had attended externships from the Honolulu Veterans Administration, Honolulu, HI; Oakland Kaiser, Oakland, CA, and Palo Alto Veterans Administration, Palo Alto, CA. Dr. Hung also attended internships from the University Of California Berkeley School Of Optometry, Berkeley, CA. Her special interests lie in general optometry, contact lens fitting for adolescents and adults. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, and reading.

Lita Wu, OD

Board Certified in Optometry

Dr. Wu attained a Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She received her doctorate in Optometry from the Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Today, she is a board certified Optometrist. She had attended an externship program from the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami, FL and an internship program from the NSU Eye Care Institute, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Her special interests lie in Pediatric Optometry, General Optometry, Contact lens fitting for adolescents and adults. Dr. Wu is a Bay Area native and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
